As student assistant in Maersk Procurement’s Finance department, you will get a unique opportunity to combine your Master studies within Economics/Finance with some hands on experience, playing an important role in Maersk Procurement while working with a commercial scope. The working hours will typically be 20 hours per week, but still flexible allowing you to concentrate on your lectures and exams as well.
You will be part of an ambitious team based in Copenhagen and will build an extensive understanding of the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group through close co-operation with our procurement offices, as well as the many business units across the world, providing you with a solid platform for future career and development opportunities within the group.

A variety of responsibilities within Procurement Finance
As student assistant you will be part of a finance team of ten people working as an internal support function for Maersk Procurement and you will be working on a variety of tasks, which among others will include:

    Savings reporting including communication with all relevant stakeholders on principles and processes Risk management with a procurement perspective Implementation of global spend visibility system Developing TCO models for complex sourcings Improving working capital in the business units through procurement initiatives
  • Ad hoc tasks, primarily by request from management
In all of the above you will be in close co-operation with internal stakeholders across the world. Working as an internal service function in Maersk Procurement this co-operation is essential to enable us to deliver value to the entire Procurement organisation. A very important part of the job is also the ability to identify, drive and realise the initiatives constantly arising from the many new opportunities within performance management.

Strong drive to achieve your goals
You are either about to start or in the first year of your Master studies within Economics/Finance (cand.merc, cand.oecon, cand.polit or similar). You are an independent and outgoing team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to work across functions and disciplines. You must be a goal-oriented and driven individual, who thrives on assuming responsibility and achieving results independently and as part of a team. You are used to standing out in a positive way, as you really want to make a difference. You have good computer skills (especially MS Excel & PowerPoint) allowing you to be efficient in your analyses and innovative in your presentations. Finally you have financial insight and interest and your English skills must be excellent, as you will work with international contacts every day.



About Group Procurement
Group Procurement is a corporate service function within the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group working with a variety of global sourcing projects, management of large strategic categories and logistics across the entire Group. Group Procurement consists of two departments, Maersk Procurement and Purchasing Logistics.

In Maersk Procurement the latest procurement tools and processes are used to focus on value creation and optimisation of Total Cost of Ownership. This is combined with organisational transformation and consultative dialogue with the Business Units in the Group.
In Purchasing Logistics the focus is to optimise the supply chain of products and services to vessels and rigs globally, through the deployment of the latest supply chain processes and optimisations.
